Eastern Shore Rare Coin

Buying and appraising coins across Delmarva.

I'm Ed, and I buy US coins and coin collections from $50 to $500,000.

Not sure what you have? Stop by for a free appraisal. (See details below.)

Ready to cash out? If you sell, I pledge a clear and fair process. I'll give you access to the professional price and sales data that coin dealers use, so that you can see the fair market value for your coins.

Managing an estate? I will appraise, buy, or find a buyer for any quality US coin collection.

Have another offer? Want a second opinion? Show me! I'll beat other offers, especially from pawn shops, jewelers, 'we buy gold' and other such establishments.

Appraisal policies

Have just a few coins? Bring them to our office and I'll give you an oral appraisal free of charge.

Got a lot of coins? Need a written appraisal?

Formal appraisals are $60/hr. The speed with which I can work depends on the type of material. I'll be happy to estimate the time required before starting.

If, following an appraisal, you choose to sell some or all of your collection to us, the appraisal fees will be waived or discounted.

About me
My family has lived on the Eastern Shore for 12 generations, beginning in Northampton County, VA and then moving north to what is now Worcester County, MD. After a career doing something completely different, a decade ago I began working with coins. As a dealer, I do not make sales in the State of Maryland due to its unfavorable tax laws, but I am active in the numismatic community across the South and Southwest from here to Texas.

I've handled millions of dollars in transactions, including rarities such as 1796 and 1878-S half dollars, and many rare 19th Century US type coins. At the same time, I definitely enjoy working with collectors with more modest goals and reasonable budgets. There's a place for everybody in this hobby.

I personally collect Seated Liberty coinage, particularly quarters, and some tokens, specifically antebellum Southern tokens, Baltimore and the Chesapeake Bay Region, and Texas saloon and pictorial tokens.
